BIO-IT World: Learn About the Power of the Cloud for HPC

Rescale makes it fast and easy for research and engineering teams to tap into the power of AI for accelerating scientific discoveries and design breakthroughs.

Join Rescale at the BIO-IT World conference and expo, May 16-18 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. Learn how to modernize your high performance computing to harness the power of AI and remove the queue from your R&D projects.

BIO IT World is the premier industry event showcasing the technologies and analytic approaches that address today’s most pressing healthcare challenges, accelerate science, and drive the future of precision medicine.

It brings together the globe’s leading scientific and technology experts in the fields of biomedical research, drug development, bioinformatics, and healthcare. BIO-IT is put on by the Cambridge Innovation Institute.

If you are attending BIO-IT, please visit us at booth 307 to learn why three of the top six life sciences companies rely on Rescale to:

  • Accelerate drug development and testing
  • Expedite approvals and time to market
  • Meet strict compliance and security standards
  • Increase cost and performance efficiencies

Rescale offers the unique combination of highly secured R&D hardware and software on-demand with end-to-end support, dramatically reducing lifetime HPC costs while markedly accelerating innovation efforts.

Stop by the Rescale booth to speak to our HPC experts about how we can help your organization move to the cloud for greater efficiencies and innovation speed. While at the booth, be sure to enter to win daily prizes.

We also encourage you to check out the BIO-IT “Cloud Computing” knowledge track. As part of that track, Rescale’s Derek McCoy, head of channel and enterprise, will discuss “Accelerating Drug Development Through Scalable and Intelligent Computing” on Wednesday, May 17, at 4:10 pm.

As the BIO-IT program states: “The adoption and deployment of cloud technologies is no longer an aspiration but a necessary mandate to enable digital transformation. There is simply no other way to store, manage, analyze, and share the massive amounts of data being collected to drive advancements in precision medicine. However, there are countless choices that must be made to determine the best path for your organization.”

HPC in the Spotlight

Indeed, the urgency and complexity of navigating discovery, production, and approval processes has pushed fixed HPC infrastructure to its limits. Now leading companies are looking for new ways to enhance their simulation capabilities by adopting dynamic cloud resources to boost agility, collaboration, and, most important, the safety and efficacy of new treatments.

Researchers and scientists depend on an increasingly diverse set of hardware and software infrastructure to run critical simulations in genomics, drug discovery, product formulation, process development, clinical trials, and personalized treatment.

BIO-IT features 285+ expert speakers who work at this crossroads of biomedicine and technology. The event contains 12 knowledge tracks, nine workshops, and two symposia. The conference and expo will also include a hackathon, an awards program, an exhibit hall of 100+ leading technology service providers, and networking activities with top biomedical research, computer science, and IT professionals from private companies and educational institutions.

Keynote speakers include leaders from the world’s most innovative bioscience R&D organizations. Highlight presentations include:

“The Promise of Data, Analytics, and Technology: Fueling Scientific and Medical Breakthroughs,”

By Anastasia Christianson, Global Head of AI, ML, Analytics, and Data, Pfizer

“Federated Futures: How the Largest Federated Learning Effort in Medicine Will Inform Our Next Steps”

By Jason Martin, Principal Engineer, Secure Intelligence Team, Intel Labs; Spyridon Bakas, Assistant Professor of Radiology, Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania

“Assessing Innovation: How Pharma Makes Tech Investment Decisions”

By Aaron Mann, CEO, Clinical Research Data Sharing Alliance; Peter Mesenbrink, Executive Director of Biostatistics, Novartis Pharmaceuticals; Laszlo Vasko, Senior Director, Clinical Innovation R&D IT, Janssen Pharmaceuticals

Don’t Forget Boston!

While you are in Boston, you might as well enjoy this historic and vibrant city. Boston is a great place to get your walk on. Here’s five fun things to do while in Boston:

  • Some of the best spring flowers can be found in the parks and gardens throughout the city. The Boston Public Garden is the oldest public botanical garden in the country, or visit the Esplanade and stroll along the handsome Charles River.
  • For a bit of the fine arts, visit the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum. The museum’s Venetian-style palazzo houses a great collection that includes masterpieces from Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, and John Singer Sarget, along with a vast collection of fine art and historic objects.
  • For a more casual pastime, go Boston blue collar and watch the Red Sox baseball team at Fenway Park.
  • Get up close and personal with the Atlantic Ocean on your visit to the New England Aquarium. It all starts with the penguins! It’s best to order your tickets early for this popular exhibit.
  • With all that walking, you are probably hungry. Try High Street Place as one of Boston’s top foodie spots with panache and cred. Yeah, you’re hungry.

Enjoy your visit to Boston and time at BIO-IT World. We look forward to seeing you there!
