NAFEMS WORLD CONGRESS: A Perfect Week of Simulation, AI, and Alpine Splendor

A Guide to NWC25 Activities by Rescale, a Proud Sponsor of the Global Engineering Community

The NAFEMS World Congress has always been a global event, making stops in major cities across North America and Europe and bringing together the brightest minds in simulation and engineering from around the world.

And 2025? Salzburg, Austria!

With stunning views and baroque architecture this city has the charm and ability to host a world-class engineering crowd. From AI breakthroughs to simulation-driven engineering and high-performance computing (HPC), NAFEMS World Congress 2025 promises to be the place where innovation meets inspiration.

Don’t miss these four action-packed days with 300+ tech talks, hands-on training, the biggest simulation expo, and more. So mark your calendar—here’s what your ideal NAFEMS week could look like:

Day 1: May 18th – Arrival & Atmosphere

After arriving in Salzburg, settle in, connect, and get oriented.

As registration opens and the exhibition hall comes to life, review the agenda and choose your must-attend sessions, workshops, and keynotes.

Reconnecting with old colleagues and making new connections is a great way to shake off the jet lag—and there’s no better place to start than the Rescale booth. With plenty of our experts on-site at NAFEMS, we’ll be prepping live demos that show how our cloud HPC platform is accelerating engineering workflows across industries.

Come by, say hello at Rescale’s Booth B8, schedule a 1-on-1, and sneak a peek before the event opens!

Day 2: May 19th – Keynotes

After you’ve made a loop around the exhibit hall and fueled up on coffee and conversation, start your morning with one of the hands-on workshops. These are an ideal way to dive into key topics and meet like-minded engineers.

After lunch, head to the main stage for a standout series of keynotes that highlight the latest in simulation-driven innovation across industries.

With a long history of supporting simulation in both the aerospace and automotive industries, Rescale is especially excited for two standout keynotes that highlight how these sectors are pushing the boundaries of innovation.

  • Jack Castro from The Boeing Company will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how simulation is enabling one of the most innovative sustainable aviation programs in decades.

  • Frank Bauer of BMW Group will share how BMW is building a centralized data hub for simulation, streamlining process automation and laying the groundwork for virtual certification at scale.

Rescale is also investing heavily in AI-driven engineering, and you might just find yourself sitting alongside one of our team members as Astrid Walle of Siemens Energy takes the main stage to explore how AI is evolving within engineering design and simulation.

For more details on each keynote presentation, please visit the NAFEMS World Congress 2025 website.

Day 3-5: Talks, Tech, and Fine Dining!

As a proud sponsor of the engineering community, Rescale is contributing several expert-led sessions this year covering the latest in cloud HPC, automation with LLMs, advanced hardware acceleration, and more.

Midway through the week on Tuesday at 13:00 CET, we’ll be hosting a special presentation featuring Rescale’s Head of Product Jacob Surber. He’ll explore a modern approach to simulation, outlining a framework that brings together AI, cloud-based HPC, and unified data management to tackle today’s toughest engineering challenges.

Whether you’re optimizing simulation workloads or exploring AI, these talks are not to be missed. Meet our experts during their sessions, and keep the conversation going at networking events and gala dinners throughout the week!
