Each product has its own pool, and everyone in the workspace draws from the shared pool for that product. The two are metered differently — Agentic Engineering by the size of each interaction, AI Physics at fixed hourly rates — and cannot be spent interchangeably. See Pricing below.
Two pages in the administration portal let you monitor those balances: Dashboards → AI Credits Utilization shows how credits are being consumed over time, by whom, and for which product, and Financials → AI Credits lists each individual credit on the account with its remaining balance and expiration date.
If you already manage Rescale Deposits, AI Credits will feel familiar — a prepaid balance, threshold notifications, and consumption reports, scoped to AI features instead of compute.
Highlights

Using AI Credits Monitoring

Access follows your existing admin role.
Viewing credit utilization
- Open the Organization Administration Portal (or the Workspace Administration Portal for a single workspace).
- In the left navigation, select Dashboards → AI Credits Utilization.
- Use the month picker in the title bar to select the period you want to review. The dashboard defaults to the current month.
The page is made up of four sections.
Balance cards
You get one card per product pool the workspace is licensed for — Agentic Engineering, AI Physics, or both side by side, as in Figure 1. Each card shows three figures for that pool:
- Total AI Credits — everything provisioned to the pool, including license allocation and any top-ups
- Remaining — what is left to spend
- Consumed To Date — how much has been drawn down
Below the figures, a bar and a % consumed label give you the same information visually.
The two pools are tracked and spent separately, so read them independently: a healthy Agentic Engineering balance tells you nothing about whether AI Physics training is about to be blocked.
Daily Burn Chart
A column chart of credits consumed per day for the selected month, shown in Figure 1. Each licensed product gets its own colored series, so you can see Agentic Engineering and AI Physics consumption side by side. Days with no consumption are left empty.
The two series have different shapes because the products meter differently. Agentic Engineering rises and falls with how much people are asking and how much context each interaction pulls in. AI Physics tracks hours of training work, so a single long training run can produce a tall column on an otherwise quiet day. Comparing the columns tells you which product is driving a heavy month.
Use the month picker to move between months — this is where a single heavy day usually becomes obvious.
Consumption by User
A table of the users who consumed credits during the selected month, sorted from highest to lowest, five rows per page. Columns:
- User — the user’s email
- Workspace — shown only at the organization level, identifying which workspace the consumption came from
- Agentic Engineering Used — credits that user drew from the AE pool
- AI Physics Used — credits that user drew from the AIP pool
Select View Billing Summary to open the billing summary for the same scope.
Prior Periods
Consumption totals for the three months before the one you are viewing, so you can see the trend without switching months repeatedly.
Exporting consumption data
You can export consumption data two ways, and they answer different questions.
From the dashboard — use the export link on the Consumption by User card to pull per-user consumption for the selected month.
From a specific credit — go to Financials → AI Credits and select CSV on the row for that credit. This gives you a consumption report scoped to that one credit, with columns for month, workspace ID, user, type, amount, and description.
Consumption reports reflect completed daily rollups. Usage from the last few hours may not be included yet — see below.
Viewing individual credits
- In the administration portal, select Financials → AI Credits.
- Review the table of credits on the account.
Each row is one credit, with:
- Credit ID — the identifier to quote when contacting Rescale about a specific credit
- Date Issued
- Type — Agentic Engineering or AI Physics, identifying which pool the credit feeds
- License Type — how the credit was provisioned
- Original Amount, Consumed, Remaining — showing respective data for each credit
- Expiration Date — shown in red once the date has passed
- Workspace — the workspace the credit belongs to
- Consumption Report — a CSV link for that credit
A workspace typically has one credit from its license allocation plus one row for each top-up purchased since. In Figure 2, the License Type column distinguishes the two: a License row for the initial purchase and a Top-up row for credits purchased on top of it.

Data freshness
Consumption is rolled up on a schedule several times a day rather than continuously. What this means in practice:
- The balance figures account for the current day’s usage as well as completed rollups, so Remaining is close to real time.
- The burn chart, Consumption by User table, Prior Periods, and CSV exports are built from completed rollups. Activity from the last few hours may not appear yet.
- If you are verifying that a specific Assistant conversation, agent run, or AI Physics training job was counted, check again the following day.
Threshold notifications
Admins are emailed automatically as the pool draws down:

Notifications use the same recipient list and preferences as Deposit threshold notifications, and are limited to one email per purchase of credits per day. Each pool notifies on its own thresholds, so a workspace can be at 80% on Agentic Engineering and 20% on AI Physics and an admin will only hear about the first.
When a pool reaches zero, the features it covers are disabled for every user in the workspace until more credits are added:
- Agentic Engineering depleted — Assistant and agent interactions stop. AI Physics work continues if that pool still has credits.
- AI Physics depleted — Any running workstations with AI Physics Training and any running jobs with AI Physics Batch are stopped. New AI Physics workstations or jobs are blocked. The Assistant and agents keep working if that pool still has credits.
In both cases the rest of Rescale — submitting and running standard jobs, storage, software — is unaffected.
Pricing
The pages themselves carry no cost. They report on the AI Credit balance your workspace already has.
How the pools are provisioned. In both cases the credits are shared across everyone in the workspace rather than divided per person, and they follow the workspace license billing period.
How credits are consumed. The two products meter differently:

Because Agentic Engineering consumption depends on how much context each interaction pulls in, the practical way to size a term is to run a month and read your own burn rate off the dashboard. AI Physics is more predictable — estimate from hours of training work.
Running out. When a pool is depleted, the features it covers stop for the workspace until credits are added to that pool; the other products keep working. Additional AI Credits are purchased through your Rescale account team; there is no self-service top-up in the platform. Contact your account team for current pricing.
Separate pools. Agentic Engineering and AI Physics credits cannot be spent interchangeably. Credits provisioned to one pool by a workspace license stay in that pool. Top-up credits are directed to a specific pool at the time of purchase.
FAQ
Why does the dashboard show no data? Most often the workspace is not yet licensed for Agentic Engineering or AI Physics, or no one has used AI features in the month you have selected. Check the month picker first, then confirm the workspace license with your Rescale account team.
Why doesn’t the usage I just generated appear? Consumption is rolled up on a schedule rather than instantly. The Remaining balance updates close to real time, but the charts, tables, and CSV exports are built from completed rollups. Check the following day to confirm a specific interaction was counted.
Why is only one product showing on the dashboard? The dashboard shows a card and a burn-chart series only for products the workspace is licensed for. An Agentic Engineering workspace sees one card; a workspace with both Agentic Engineering and AI Physics sees two. If you expect an AI Physics card and do not have one, confirm the workspace’s AI Physics license with your Rescale account team.
Why did AI Physics stop working when we still have credits left? Check which pool the remaining credits are in. The pools are enforced independently — an AI Physics balance of zero stops training and inference even with plenty of Agentic Engineering credits available, and vice versa. The balance cards on the dashboard show each pool separately.
Can I set a per-user limit so one person can’t spend the whole pool? Not in this release. Per-user caps and workspace budgets for AI Credits are planned — talk to your account team about timing. In the meantime, the Consumption by User table is how you spot an outlier early.
Can I move credits between the Agentic Engineering and AI Physics pools? Credits provisioned through a workspace license cannot be moved between pools. Top-up credits can be directed to either pool at the time of purchase.
Do unused credits expire? Yes. Each credit carries an expiration date, visible on the Financials → AI Credits page. License credits follow the workspace license billing period; top-up credits expire 12 months from purchase by default. This applies to both pools.
Can non-admin users see the workspace balance? No. Both pages require an organization or workspace admin role. Individual users see their own consumption and quota state through the Assistant, not the workspace pool.
Why can’t I see workspace names in the consumption table? The Workspace column appears only when you view the dashboard at the organization level. Workspace admins see their own workspace’s data without the column.
