DoS

DoS stands for “Denial-of-Service.” It is a type of cyberattack that aims to disrupt the normal functioning of a computer system, network, or website by overwhelming it with traffic or sending it an excessive amount of requests. The goal of a DoS attack is to make a website or service unavailable to its intended users, causing inconvenience, frustration, and even financial loss to the targeted organization. In some cases, DoS attacks can be used as a smokescreen to distract security personnel from other types of attacks that are taking place simultaneously.
