Independent Software Vendor (ISV)

ISV stands for “Independent Software Vendor.” An ISV is a company that develops, sells, and distributes software products that run on one or more platforms, such as desktop computers, mobile devices, or cloud-based environments.

ISVs may create software applications for a specific industry or niche, or they may develop software solutions for a wide range of users. These software products can be either off-the-shelf or customized for specific customers.

ISVs can operate as a standalone business or can partner with hardware manufacturers, systems integrators, or other software vendors to provide complete solutions to customers. The success of an ISV often depends on its ability to develop innovative software solutions, meet customer needs, and adapt to changing market demands.
