Auto-Terminate Suspended Workstations

We are excited to introduce a new feature, Auto-Termination for Suspended Workstations, which allows admins to configure policies for automatically terminating workstations that have been suspended for a specified number of days. This update helps organizations optimize cloud resource use and eliminate costs associated with inactive workstations. This feature is now generally available to all administrators in the Platform Settings section of the admin portal – see screenshot below.

Key features include:

  • Cost Control: Automatically terminate suspended workstations to avoid unnecessary cloud expenses from idle resources.
  • Configurable Notifications: Admins can set up multiple email reminders to alert workstation owners before termination, helping ensure that no unsaved work is lost.
  • Simplified Management: This feature streamlines the handling of suspended workstations, reducing manual oversight and improving resource efficiency.

The suspension period resets each time a workstation is resumed. If a workstation remains suspended beyond the defined limit, it will be terminated automatically, and any unsaved data will be lost. Admins can create multiple notifications to warn users before termination occurs.
