Data Connectors to Access Engineering Data Across External Systems
Engineers often work with data spread across multiple systems: cloud storage, document management platforms, PLM tools, and more. Rescale Data Connectors bridge that gap by connecting your external data sources directly to the Rescale platform, so engineers can find, browse, and use their data without switching tools or manually transferring files.
What You Can Do
- Browse files from connected sources: Navigate the folder structure of any connected source directly from the Rescale platform. View file names, sizes, and folder hierarchy – the same structure you’d see in the source system.
- Search for files by name: Find files across a connected source using a file path search. Results show file name, path, and size.
- Attach connected files as workload inputs: For S3 and Azure Blob connectors, attach files directly from connected storage as inputs during job or workstation setup. No download and re-upload – files transfer to the compute cluster automatically at launch.

Supported Connectors
See the table below for supported connectors and their corresponding features:
| Browse | Search | Attach to Jobs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWS S3 | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Azure Blob Storage | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| SharePoint | ✓ | — | — |
| Databricks | ✓ | — | — |
Additional connector types (PLM systems, requirements management tools) and feature expansion are in development for upcoming releases.
Getting Started
- Admins: Navigate to Connectors > Manage Connectors to add a connection. Provide credentials for your source system and test the connection.
- Users: Navigate to Connectors > Browse Files to find and interact with files from connected sources.

Requirements
- Workspace must have the Advanced Modeling & Simulation or Agentic Engineering tier enabled. Please contact your account manager for more information.
- Admin credentials for the storage you want to connect.
