License Hosting Enhancements for Streamlined Administration
Three new features for license hosting services improve how customers manage their software and licensing, streamlining administration and ensuring reliability.
License Hosting Overview
License hosting allows customers to bring their own modeling and simulation software licenses (purchased separately as an optional add-on feature) to the Rescale platform to be centrally managed and accessed for HPC jobs and workstations running from both the cloud and on-premises. Rescale manages the software updates for supported vendor license daemons, and provides an easy-to-use integrated administrative interface directly from the Rescale Administrator Portal.
New Features
- Automated Notifications: Rescale’s License Hosting services will notify customers when their provided vendor licenses are about to expire. This proactive feature will help ensure there are no service interruptions for users running HPC workloads on the Rescale platform.
- Custom Maintenance Windows: Administrators can now configure when maintenance updates are applied to their License Hosts. By controlling maintenance down time, customers have greater flexibility to ensure that such maintenance updates do not impact user HPC workloads.
- Control of Vendor Daemon Updates: For Rescale License Hosting, users who do not wish to have their vendor daemon versions automatically upgraded to the latest available version, this new feature gives administrators the option to maintain the current version in use. This is useful when HPC vendor license software is in use that is not backwards compatible between newer and previous versions.
