Max Coretype Updates: Upcoming New Additions & Deprecations

Hardware Architecture Updates

To continue delivering improved cost- and performance-optimized hardware options, Coretype options on Rescale are evolving.

Please note two important upcoming changes:

  • New hardware coming June 1, 2026 – New Max coretypes will be introduced, expanding access to cost-optimized options across additional hardware configurations.
  • Legacy hardware to sunset October 1, 2026 – Select legacy Max coretypes (see the list below) will be deprecated and will no longer be available for Rescale Batch jobs, Workstations, or HPS.

Max coretypes remain a cost-optimized alternative to standard coretypes. For the legacy Max coretypes being deprecated, Coretype Collections offer a more flexible and performant path to similar cost savings and will serve as the recommended replacement.

If you are currently using any affected Max coretypes, we recommend reviewing your usage and planning your transition to Coretype Collections ahead of October 1, 2026. Additional details on the new offerings and migration guidance will be shared in the coming months.
