New Coretype Collections for Expanded Workload and Hardware Coverage

Overview

Building on the Coretype Collections catalog, we’ve added several new options, extending cost-performance optimized hardware selection to a broader range of modeling and simulation workloads and architecture families.

Highlights

What is it?

  • 13 new Coretype Collections are now available in the hardware catalog: Catseye Plus, Hickory Plus, Jacinth Plus, Larch Plus, Malachite Plus, Maple Plus, Melanite Plus, Moonstone Plus, Oak Plus, Redbud Plus, Rutile Plus, Spindle Plus, and Willow Plus.
  • Each new Coretype Collection delivers equal or better performance compared to its corresponding coretype, with memory, storage, and networking configurations that can increase in size or speed at no additional cost.
  • Price is set upfront when selecting a Coretype Collection and will not change based on the actual coretype used for the job.
  • Only Linux On-demand Priority workloads are eligible to use Coretype Collections.

Why is it important?

We continue to expand Coretype Collections coverage so that more customers can benefit from easier cost-performance choices across a wider range of workloads and hardware architectures.

How is it used?

When setting up a new job, users select a Coretype Collection option (coretypes with the name “Plus”) in the Hardware setup step.

Getting Started

Setup and behavior are identical to existing Coretype Collections – see the December 2025 release note for a full walkthrough, or go directly to the Coretype Collections product documentation for more details and a complete list of collections.
