Preserve Sandboxes When Publishing Custom Software
Rescale Software Publisher, which provides a simple and flexible way to self-publish custom software to the Rescale platform, now offers an option to preserve sandboxes after publishing versions. This feature allows administrators to make iterative updates and corrections for a recently published software version, without having to create new versions. Choosing to preserve a sandbox will keep the instance active and keep any software you have have uploaded and built.
The option for administrators to preserve sandboxes after publishing provides the following advantages:
- Update previous versions – without having to create new versions for making small corrections and updates
- Faster iterations – no wait time to create new sandboxes and upload contents to build and test
- Preserve work – all previous work in the sandbox is saved and available as needed
The ability to preserve sandboxes after publishing will incur additional compute costs until the sandbox is removed by the workspace administrator. It is recommended that the walltime limit be used to control how long a sandbox will persist.
You can read more about this new feature in the Rescale Software Publisher online product documentation.
