Highlights

  • What is it? The Rescale Assistant is an integrated query tool designed to democratize access to simulation insights in a conversational interface. It allows users to ask a range of questions about their simulation data using natural language, receive intelligent job summaries, and generate flexible data visualizations.
  • Why did we build it? The volume and specialization of simulation data create bottlenecks and complexity in decision making in product development. Engineering users, project owners, and external reviewers often face challenges in analyzing outcomes, identifying critical trends, and understanding data provenance–if they can even find the data they’re looking for to begin with. The Rescale Assistant was designed to address these pain points head-on, helping to reduce manual and repetitive data processing and searching, and allowing users to distill complex results for streamlined hand-offs and collaborative decisions.
  • How is it used? Users can ask questions about their simulations in conversational text to receive data-driven answers , search across jobs, studies, and projects , and compare performance metrics. The Assistant also provides AI-powered overviews of simulation job results, highlighting key findings and potential hardware-software configuration issues from job logs and output files. Additionally, it turns extracted metadata and job summaries into visualizations like charts and graphs based on user prompts.
