IP Address Charges for AWS Compute

Effective March 7, 2024, there will be a new charge for IP addresses used with Compute resources on the Rescale platform. Specifically, compute resources sourced from Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the Rescale products such as Jobs, Workstations, and HPS will incur an hourly charge of $0.0054 per IP Address. One IP Address is attached per node for Job, Workstation, and HPS.

Key Changes

  • A separate charge for IP Addresses for the use of AWS coretypes per workload.
  • Transparently track your IP Address usage in the Billing CSV in a new IP Address charge row for each workload. On the Billing Summary, this charge is displayed in the Compute column.
  • Budgets, Deposits, and Credits that cover infrastructure charges like Compute, Storage, etc. also cover IP Address charges.
  • Coupled with this change, we are also simplifying the Hourly Price Summary UI by displaying a bundled hourly price. You can click on the pricing page link to view detailed pricing.

AWS IP Address Charge Example

In this example, we have 2 jobs

  • A single-node job running for 11 hours
  • A multi-node (3 nodes) job running for 6 hours

Single-node Job

  • Total in-use IP addresses for the single-node job = 1
  • Hourly Price per in-use IP address = $0.0054

IP Address Charge for the single-node job = No. of IP addresses * Job Duration * Price per IP address = 1 * 11 hrs * $0.0054 per hr = $0.06

Multi-node Job

  • Total in-use IP addresses for the multi-node job = 3
  • Hourly Price per in-use IP address = $0.0054

IP Address Charge for the multi-node job = No. of IP addresses * Job Duration * Price per IP address = 3 * 6 hrs * $0.0054 per hr = $0.10

This will result in a total of $0.16 IP Address charges.
